Return to School Survey

On behalf of our board of directors, administrative team, faculty, and staff, we are excited to announce that we will shift to our NEW yellow phase reopening hybrid plan.  We will welcome our entire participating student body back to school beginning Monday, October 5, 2020. Although our return to school will be significantly different from years past, our entire team is prepared to adapt to the changes and is working hard to ensure a safe and successful school year.

Recommendations to return to school in person were based on the COVID-19 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard and Washington Counties Levels of Community Transmission Table defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Knowing that it is impossible to develop a plan that is favorable to all and fully understanding that our new plan will change as the course of the pandemic changes.  This new hybrid plan is guided by the following principles:
Under the revised yellow phase hybrid model, all Pre-K through 12 students will attend a regular school schedule Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, classes will be held online.  This change ELIMINATES the previous plan of a hybrid schedule with A and B days.   Each Friday, the support staff will perform a deep cleaning and sanitizing of all school facilities.

It is important to remember that face coverings are mandated both on school transportation and while in school.  Because of the safety concerns regarding this issue, students who refuse to wear face-covering are subject to disciplinary action.  This can include sending your child home for the day.  It is the parent’s responsibility to complete the At Home Health Screening Tool prior to sending students to school (visit charleroisd.org for the screening tool).

While many of our families have shared with us that they are ready to return to school, others have let us know that they are not comfortable returning to school. We understand that each family’s situation is unique. Our goal is to provide flexibility to families that might not be able to return to school and work to support their individual needs. Therefore, we will continue to OFFER OUR ONLINE LEARNING ACADEMY FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO REMAIN AT HOME.

With this in mind, we ask that you complete the following survey so that we can properly prepare for students’ return on October 5.  You can change your responses from the original survey sent this summer.
Please complete this survey by Monday, September 28, 2020.
