Masking Update as of 11/12/2021

At today’s emergency meeting of the Board of Education, the Board discussed the decision of the Commonwealth Court that invalidated the statewide mask mandate for schools. The governor’s office has appealed the Commonwealth Court’s decision, which means that the mask mandate remains valid and in full force and effect until the Pennsylvania Supreme Court would decide otherwise. Accordingly, the Board and the District will continue to follow the statewide order until a decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Once a decision by the Court is made, the Board of Education will convene as soon as possible to discuss revising the District’s Health and Safety Plan, including the possibility of making face covering optional for all students and staff.
